An island cruise in Vermont? There may not be palm trees, but the Lake Champlain Islands have more shoreline and more breathtaking scenery than in any other part of Vermont. Nestled between Vermont’s Green Mountains and the Adirondacks of New York, the islands sit midst the pristine blue waters of the sixth largest freshwater lake in the United States. The islands are 30 miles long and 8 miles wide and are comprised of five quaint towns. The Islands were discovered by Samuel de Champlain 400 years ago, although Native Americans inhabited the shores for much longer. The Islands are rich in history including New England’s oldest log cabin and the world’s oldest coral reef. Join the Captain in the pilot house and hear of the fascinating history and you cruise through this spectacular archipelago. The Captain’s choice of ports of call vary from St. Albans, to Grand Isle, to Rouses Point to Willsboro.
